Shaun came home with what he thinks is the swine flue, a couple days ago. It's the first time I have ever seen him sick, except for food poisoning. I'm having my daily glass of red wine in hopes of staying healthy, but if I'm not around for a few weeks, it means I've come down with it too. I'm rushing to get this journal out while I still feel up to it.

So listen to Natures song.
I captured it all one late night when I was young.
When I stared soundlessly up at the glistening stars,
And my stress from the day wore away.
I shared my heart and soul with them,
Poured out everything that I held deep inside.
To the only ones that would listen.
I stood there for hours,
and even when everything was let loose.
I continued to watch them shimmer and shine,
and I wondered,
Were they shining just for me?
To fill me with this all consuming peace?
To rid me from the stress I once had?
I doubt I'll ever really know...
On a vacation with my family one summer,
I stood before the ocean after a fight with my mother.
My gaze narrowed on the crashing waves,
Watching as the surf rode up the shore.
Licking my feet as the breeze kissed my cheeks.
The sun shown down its golden rays to reflect across the water,
My anger fading away as I breathed in.
Gull cries filled the air, adding to the moment.
And I gave way as a wave gracefully collided into me,
Washing its power through me.
