This was taken two summers ago by my oldest son, Brian Emerson, at Great Northern Flats, a popular landing spot for rafters on the Northfork of the Flathead River. This area was hit by the Robert Fire, which jumped the river and burned its way through Glacier National Park a few years ago. Fortunately, life is starting to recover. The air was smoky, though, because there were other new forest fires burning at the time.
