Usually I work for a long time, designing layers and creating gradients, to come up with a picture that I conceived of. Every once in a while, something amazing happens! I'll be arranging the layers I've been working on, still unfinished, when something beautiful appears that has nothing to do with the image in my imagination. Something much better than I was trying to achieve. Something that seemed to create itself. Abandoning my original project, I seize on it. I'd love to take credit for the design, but I suspect that it came from somewhere beyond me. Has this happened to anybody else?
